Help Please

I need Bible verses. I can't find anything to settle my soul. My cat will die today. I feel anger with my husband. My daughter has been raped and her boyfriend just can't let it go so that she can get help and get on with her life. His anger has about destroyed their relationship. y mother is getting older. I feel estranged from my sister. It is becoming too much for me. I have caught myself sleeping alot. I can't let the depression control my life but it is creeping in. Dear friends, please help me.

  1. Donna,
One of my favorites is very simple and easy to remember. "The joy of the Lord is your/my strength." Neh. 8:10 This verse reminds me not to allow satan to steal my joy and also that ALMIGHTY GOD will strengthen and sustain me. HE will never leave or forsake me and though the world may seem like it is crumbling around me HE will carry me when I can not walk through the storms and fires of this life (Isaiah 1-3). I love you and I am praying for you. I know there are many more praying for you.
    Blessings, andrea

  2. I am new to your blog...I came to find this through Andrea. I can not comprehend the pain you are feeling-but there is one who does. Every emotion that you have, every feeling God knows and He cares. I have recently been dealing with a certain battle in my life and was listening to Beth Moore when she said (in my own words)-It doesn't matter about 6 months from now or a year from now...it matters today-Give us This Day, Our Daily Bread. One I heard that I felt peace...it's one day at a time...sometimes just an hour or two at a time. Feel free to journey over to my blogs, A Simple Girls Life and I am the Clay and HE is my Potter.

    Matthew (KJV) 6:11
"Give us This Day Our Daily Bread."
This verse is part of the "Lord's Prayer" and you can read the whole prayer in Matthew 6:9-13

    Philippians (KJV) 4:13
"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."

I just want to squeeze you, but I will pray for you...

"Lord, I give you Thanks for bringing me here today. I want you to look down on this dear Sister and see her burdens, see her pain, see her need for relief, see her cry out that she has written here. Lord-please whisper your sweet peace over her, sometimes our cross get heavy and we need strengthend and help. Make the dark clouds roll away. Today Send Down your Love for Her...a special Delight for her today. I have faith that you are already there with her. I ask these things In Jesus's holy name, AMEN."

  3. "For I am the Lord your God, who upholds your right hand, Who says to you, 'Do not fear, I will help you.'" ~ Isaiah 41:13

I know the pains of depression, and I know that sometimes scripture isn't even enough to pull you out of it. But grit your teeth and hang in there. It's dark now, but dawn will come.

  4. Psalm 10:17 -"Lord, you know the hopes of the helpless. Surely you will listen to their cries and comfort them."

Lifting you up in prayers. May the Lord comfort you and your family, and give you strength.

  5. Sweet friend, I too deal with depression and when I am "in a funk," the Word does not settle my soul either. And because of this I turn from it totally.

I've learned that this is not helpful at all, so I must say that you have inspired me by soliciting Bible comfort from others. I think, well let me change that, for me, I think that I find no comfort during my "episodes" because subconsciously I want to remain in that abyss because when I am there, no one expects anything from me. They all just wait until it's over. I guess what I am saying is that I use it as an excuse to be unhappy instead of actively trying to come out of it.

So, again, how awesome of you to turn to your friends for help. Oh, by the way, I found you by way of Andrea.

"Then David left his baggage in the care of the baggage keeper, and ran to the battle line and entered in order to greet his brothers." 1 Samuel 17:22 NASB

  8. Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. Psalm 46:10

You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.” Isaiah 26:3

  9. I would have to provide you with the example and story found in Matthew beginning in Chapter 14. It tells of the disciples in the midst of a terrible, terrible storm, and they were afraid. So afraid they thought they wouldn't live to see the light of day. It states that the disciples faced this storm for 9 cold, skin-drenching hours and at about 4am, they spotted what appeared to be a ghost walking on the water towards them.

You see it is in these storms when times are at their utter worst and there can't be anything more at that point we can take or handle that God does His finest work, because He knows He has our attention.

"Don't be afraid," He said, "Take courage. I AM HERE!'" Matthew 14: 27

    Love and Hugs ~ Kat

  10. This is my first time visiting you. I was sent here by our bloggy friend Andrea. I'm so sorry for all that you're going through. I know God will give you the strength to see this all through. It may take some time but nevertheless, with God by your side, this all will pass. Best wishes to you and your family.

  14. dear friend,

    Romans 8:26
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God's people in accordance with the will of God.

There are wonderful words of love and encouragement here. Please take them in, some times in life we must endure but we are never alone God lives in the power of His word. As you take it in you take in His mighty power. I pray you will find rest and peace soon.

    In Him,
    Tina

  15. Seems like you and I have an affinity for glass...I like its transparency.

At times like you are facing the Word is the perfect place to run. You were wise to ask for scriptures. A good one would be from Psalm 119:18-20

"Open my eyes to see wonderful things in your Word. I am but a pilgrim here on earth...how I need a map---and your commands are my chart and guide. I long for your instructions more than I can tell"

  17. Donna,

I am sorry I haven't been visiting with all that has been going on with my Dad but please know that I have been praying for you and would like to know if I could have your address. If so, please email me at lrn.mcghee@gmail.com

Here are some scriptures that have been helping me these past few days.

Exodus 14:14 The Lord will fight for you, you need only to be still.

Psalm 62:8 Trust in him at all times, O people: pour out your hearts to him, for God is your refuge.

Psalm 62:5-6 Find rest, O my soul, in god alone; my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken

Donna the power of crying out and knowing that the Lord hears your cry, knows your heart and longs to comfort you ~ He gave you the Holy Spirit for such a time as this. He will pray for you when you don't know how or what to pray.....

and look at all of these who have reached out to you....this is the Lord~ He alone has brought us all to you, living vessels who love HIM and want to help HIS daughter. Let that wash over you tonight.

    Love you!!!

  18. Donna - I will be lifting you up in prayer. Sometimes in our deepest darkness, we tap into God's greatest grace.

Just sink to your knees - hit your face and cry out to our Precious Father. He hears our cry. He responds to us. He cares for us.

  19. "Behold, I am making all things new." Revelation 21:5

I am praying for you and your family. I agree with Billy....sometimes during "depression" you should seek medical help and take a rest from Scripture. If you cannot pray right now...many are praying for you and our High Priest is also praying for you. I also pray that your daughter gets the help she needs to get on the other side of such a a terrible experience.

  20. We have a counselor at church that God has used tremendously to fight spiritual battles and to teach others to. I posted something he wrote that is filled with scriptures for the battle. Read it out loud and as many times as you need it. It will remind you of God's Love and power over the enemy and it's TRUTH will set you free.
I Am a Child of the King

There is also a book call Bondage Breakers that is excellent. We did the study in my SS class and I learned so much. The enemy has no power of a child of God, but he can convince us at times that he does.

    Much love to you.
